Backyard Fun

I have really missed playing outside this summer, but it seems like it has either been too hot, raining, or the mosquitoes are so bad they'll eat you alive.  The weather last weekend seemed slightly more comfortable so we decided to chance it and try for a little backyard play time.  Everything was going great, and we were having fun playing ball, swinging, and sliding...until Mommy sees the first mosquito land on Brody's little face. Well, at least we got these sweet photos before we called it quits.

A boy and his ball

I love this!  He is walking very well but still doesn't have a lot of confidence about walking around outside in shoes.

Photobucket
Just wanting someone to play ball with.

So sweet!

Photobucket
Why so sad?

Photobucket
A little red-breasted robin came to play.

Searching for food for her babies.

Happy baby in the swings!

Photobucket
He loves the wind blowing through his hair!

Photobucket
Big boy.  He recently learned to walk in flip flops and is so proud of them.

Photobucket
Just swinging.

What a sweetheart!

Climbing up to his "treehouse."

Down he goes.

Nothing like brothers sliding together.

Photobucket
They are having a blast together these days.

Photobucket
Down they go.

Photobucket
Brody wasn't scared a bit with his big brother holding him.

Photobucket
He liked it so much, he tried to go back up and do it again.

Photobucket
Is he going to make it to the top?

Photobucket
And he's back down again.

Photobucket
Off to explore.

Photobucket
Time to go in.

Photobucket
Sweet face.

  1. Were they wearing the same outfit on purpose? Your backyard looks lovely. Our backyard is concrete and rock. Stupid Arizona. One of our highest priorities in buying a house this time is a better backyard.

    1. Well, we had been to church so they were "coordinated." And I bet you don't have those pesky mosquitoes to contend with...or the dreadful humidity! ;-)

My GFC has been weird, but it let me follow you through it using my twitter... who knew you could do that?! Love it :)

  3. We need to come up and play in your backyard! Seriously, it looks like so much fun!!!!

Hopefully y'all can enjoy your evenings outside a little more once the weather finally starts to get a little better.

And I know I shouldn't even mention it but seriously Evan and Brody look adorable!

  4. I agree that this summer has been awful for playing outside. I thought, after finally living in a house with an awesome yard, that it would be hard to keep us INSIDE this summer but it's been so hot and humid that being outside is just no fun.

I am loving the cooler weather we are finally getting. Here's hoping you get it soon too.
