Movie by Moonlight

As a fun end of summer back-to-school event for the families in our area, our athletic association and the local elementary school (where Evan will probably attend next year for the big K) joined together to host this event.  They rented a large movie screen with projector and popcorn machine and invited all the families to watch the movie Rio on the big screen.  We were a little afraid that a southern summer night in August would be too hot for the kids to really enjoy it, but we really lucked out.  A little storm to the south of us gave us a nice cool breeze when the sun went down, and we had the most enjoyable evening.  Our neighbors went too so we laid out our blankets on the softest green grass next to there's.  Evan enjoyed getting to play on the elementary school's really cool playground before the movie started, and we all enjoyed FREE popcorn and drinks during the movie.  I definitely hope this becomes an annual tradition!

Evan enjoyed the playground.  He will be playing on this playground a lot in the future...he is playing soccer on the school's athletic field this fall.

Climbing the big rock structure.

He made it!

Getting down was a little tricky.

This was kind of like a little trampoline.

Playing on the little obstacle course and working on his balance.

Walking the balance beam.  This kid does have great balance and coordination although he may be a little more cautious than boys typically are.  We aren't complaining though!

The big movie screen is ready so we just had to wait until it got dark enough around 8:30.

Brody loved playing on the quilt Mommy made many years ago.

He is really chewing on his toys now.

Daddy and Evan talking before the movie starts.

Movie and popcorn time!
