On Thursday, we took Brody to his 2 month check up. He was actually 11 weeks on Friday, but we were a little behind since Mommy went back to work two weeks ago. More on that later! We are so proud of this little guy. I couldn't wait for his nice doctor to see him and how happy he is. He did not disappoint, and he laid up on the examining table giving big smiles, cooing, and just flirting away! She was also very impressed that he was giggling and laughing already. She said most babies don't do that until at least 4 months!
He and Mommy have had colds all week which I blame on some air conditioning problems we have been having at our house. It is an older unit and is too small for the house. Earlier in the week, we had record breaking temperatures, and our room was miserably hot. The AC would run all day long, but our room never would cool down. Nighttime was especially miserable so we used a couple of fans to bring the temperatures down. Brody's baby monitor registered the temps as 89 degrees! We have had an AC man come and look at it and tell us several things that were wrong. Mainly, he opened up the damper to our room which was partially closed. Anyway, I think the fans blowing on us all night and just the sweating from being too hot got to both of us. He has been very congested and has even thrown up a few times from choking and coughing too much! Despite his not feeling too well, his spirits were still as high as ever. He had to get two shots and an oral vaccine so I was worried about how that would make him feel. He was very pitiful for a few minutes after the shots, but after Mommy fed him, he went to sleep. He woke up about 30 minutes later with more smiles for Mommy! Unfortunately, he was a little sore and fussy the rest of the afternoon, but he still gives us smiles through it all. The title of this post is not only to address his general jolliness, but also his size. We are amazed at how this baby has grown after having such a small baby the first go round! He is a very healthy eater who is on a very good schedule that allows him to sleep all night long. Here were his stats from this appointment:
Height: 24 3/4 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 13 lbs. 2 oz. (50th - 75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 10th - 25th percentile
Seriously, he is the size Evan was at 7 months old! That's crazy to me! As you can see, it is mostly in his length, and he has a comparably small head size. We just love our jolly giant!
