Evan's Diego Adventure Party!

For Evan's 2nd birthday, we had planned to have a real Diego safari adventure at the Lazy 5 Ranch, a local ranch/petting zoo with lots of exotic animals. Unfortunately, for the second year, the weather did not cooperate with our plans. It was going to be a rainy, cold day AGAIN! Well, our backup plan emerged into lunch at Pizza Hut and some warm, indoor fun at Monkey Joe's. We all had a pretty awesome time. Evan's birthday was on Friday this year so Mommy and Daddy along with Nana and Papa went to Evan's school and threw a little class party for him. Most of the kids in his class were young one year old's who still had little experience with cake so you will see a difference in the messes they made.

Here are some pictures from Evan's school party:

Evan is ready to par-tay in his Diego shirt and party hat!

Evan's class loved eating cupcakes for Evan's birthday. We also had apple slices and bananas for a healthier treat.

Photobucket
Ms. Kelly, Evan's teacher in the 2 year old room, joined the party with her daughter, Lila.

Photobucket
Mommy, Ms. Kelly, and Evan's favorite teacher, Ms. Carol, all had a good time watching the kids getting messy. Ms. Carol had the bright idea to put their art smocks on them so they wouldn't mess up their clothes...she's a smart lady!

Photobucket
Evan had to have the orange cupcake...his favorite color!

Photobucket
He was definitely neater eating his cake this year!

Photobucket
But he still had the cutest little cake face!

Photobucket
Do they not have the same cheesy smiles? Haha!

Photobucket
Evan and "his" Ms. Carol! He still loves her!!!

Evan's class loved his birthday balloons!

Here are some pictures of Evan's fabulous Diego adventure party with friends and family:

Photobucket
I love his face!

Photobucket
He thinks he's so big now!

Photobucket
He still loves to slide!

Photobucket
Especially with Mommy!

Photobucket
He was a little less enthusiastic about the big bounce room. There were a lot of big kids in there.

Photobucket
Cousin Lanny is so brave at Monkey Joe's!

Photobucket
Evan's new friend Skylar loves to smile for the camera. Evan really liked her and even tried to kiss her good-bye!

Photobucket
Evan was showing off for Skylar! Don't you just love her eyes and her curls? She is a doll!

Photobucket
Evan is having a blast!

Evan wasn't too sure about everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to him. He acted a little shy, but he got over it!

Evan's 1st Snow ~ 2009

Winter 2009 was the most wonderful winter of our lives...so far! We actually got SNOW! It seemed like forever since we had seen a decent snow, and we were so glad Evan was old enough to play in it with us. We enjoyed showing him this winter wonderland that God had placed in his own backyard. Although it wasn't planned, we all ended up in our red winter coats. Luckily, we found a snow suit for Evan at our local Burlington Coat Factory, and it will be big enough for next year! (Here's hoping anyway!) Evan also enjoyed sharing this wonderful time with his cousins, Emma and Lanny.

Here are some of the fantastic pictures we captured of this memorable experience:
