Mattox turns 4!

We love celebrating our babies' birthdays in special ways.  Lately, it has seemed better to celebrate with experiences instead of big parties and presents.  This year, we decided to take Mattox to the circus which we had not been able to do since we had moved away from Charlotte.  We really miss the fabulous Barnum and Bailey Circus, but we were happy that this little circus came to Savannah the week after Mattox's birthday.  I think he enjoyed it despite his facial expressions in some of the pictures.  Four year old Mattox obviously doesn't always like his picture being taken.  He's still the cutest though.

He wasn't too happy about being woken up to singing, but he finally cheered up and blew out the candle on his pancakes. 

Later, he got some fun green cupcakes that closely resembled the Hulk.  We loosely did a superhero themed birthday with superhero balloons.  He is our little superhero. 

Mean Mommy tried to make him wear the birthday hat again.  I think I need to try this every year and see when he actually cooperates.  Haha! 

He's either still mad about the hat or just not liking the camera. 

But he does love cupcakes!

He got some presents! Hooray! 

Grayson couldn't wait to see what it was. 

It's Buzz Lightyear!  He really started liking Buzz after going to preschool this year and that being their theme for the year.

Thank you, Garden Bros. Circus, for a great show!  The boys really loved the motorcycle stunts inside the giant cage ball.  I really loved the elephants.  They really are special animals. 

I don't believe elephants in circuses today are mistreated.

Mattox was happy to get a little Minecraft sword as his special birthday treat.

Happy Birthday to our precious baby boy!  Mattox, you have been such a very special blessing to us as you came to us when our hearts needed you most.  You have a very special and loving personality and are so sensitive and sweet.  I do worry about you a lot as I know you battle some physical and emotional trials of your own.  I just hope that our love will help you grow and adapt to your surroundings so that you can be successful in all you do.  I know you have so much to offer the world!  We love you to the moon and back, and I know you have big dreams of going to the moon someday!
