Brody's 3rd Month~ Getting so big!

We cannot believe Brody is already 3 months old and that Mommy only has one more month of summer before school starts back.

A few things about Brody at 3 months:

  • He is still so happy and smiley and giggly.  Mommy just talks to him in her silly voice or kisses and blows raspberries on his neck and cheeks, and he just giggles.  He is definitely ticklish!
  • He is drinking between 28 and 30 ounces of milk (part breast milk and part formula) a day.  Only one more month until he tries some solid foods.  We are thinking of trying avocado first.  It is supposed to be the most perfect baby food, and I love it!  We are also going to try making his baby food.
  • He is holding his head up very well when lying on his tummy but still hasn't quite figured out how to roll over.
  • He is grasping things really well.  He holds onto his blankie a lot, and it usually ends up in his mouth.  He has also grabbed Mommy's hair quite a few times and loves holding our fingers.  He helps hold his bottle sometimes too.
  • He is still sleeping through the night, going to bed around 9:00 or 9:30 and sleeping until between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m.  Sometimes, he would sleep longer, but Mommy has to wake him up to feed him.  He usually goes back to sleep after eating.
  • He is the biggest fan of big brother and just loves to watch him playing.
  • He is also getting to be quite a Daddy's boy and gives Daddy really big smiles.

Here are some photos of Brody's 3rd month:

Discovery Place Kids and Pool Time

This weekend was a fun weekend for our family.  With the end of summer only a month away, we really want to squeeze in as much fun as we can.   Mommy knows her weekends will be a lot busier when school starts back, and Evan will be starting a new school too!  We decided to take Evan to a fairly new children's museum in Huntersville just north of uptown Charlotte called Discovery Place Kids.  It is set up like a little town where kids can "pretend" they are grown ups working as veterinarians, bank tellers, firefighters, grocery store clerks, mechanics, farmers, etc.  Evan still wants to be a fireman when he grows up so he loved seeing the big firetruck!

Gotta play with the gadgets.

The Town Hall was the center of the town and the stage for the puppet show.  Evan was not interested in watching the puppet show.

Photobucket
The bank in the town.  It had a cash register with "real" money and a working teller drive thru.

Photobucket
The little town grocery store was cute with play food on the shelves, grocery carts and baskets for shoppers, and check out lines with registers and scanners.  So cute, but it was crazy busy in there.

Brody enjoyed his ride around town.

After spending the morning at the children's museum, we met Grandma, Papa James, and Aunt Naomi for lunch at Chick-fil-a and spent the afternoon playing at home.  On Sunday, we enjoyed cooling off at the pool. Well, we tried to cool off, but the pool water was so warm it wasn't very refreshing!

Brody loves the water.
