A White Christmas...ALMOST!

We loved that we got some beautiful snow on the day after Christmas.  It literally snowed all day at Nana's and Papa's and dumped about 12 inches.  It was the perfect snow that was soft and powdery and not too wet and cold.  The wind was blowing all day so that did make it a little cold.  We had listened to the weather advisory and packed Evan's snow clothes so we were prepared.  Of course, Mommy's snow pants don't fit her right now, but since the snow was powdery and pretty dry, her pants did not get wet and cold.  Mommy worked hard on a snowman, but Evan was too busy throwing snowballs to help much.  He's a stinker!

Video: Christmas Morning

Video:  Our tradition is to take a video of Evan (and our other children) going to see what they received from "Santa" on Christmas morning.  We always love the cute expressions Evan uses, and this year he was just so excited.  You will hear a lot of "Wows!" in this one.

Christmas with our families

Spending time with family is such a special part of Christmas.  Every year, we head to Eddie's extended family's for Christmas lunch and some more present opening.  His family does the "Dirty Santa" game where we all bring a miscellaneous gift and draw names to see who gets to open first.  The next person can either take the first person's gift or get a new one to open.  It can get pretty nasty sometimes if the gifts are very desirable.  We also all give our gifts to Eddie's Grandpa.  He is very special to Evan as his only living Great-Grandfather.  Later, we open presents with Eddie's mother, sister, and immediate family.  Evan always gets great presents from Grandma.  This year, she gave him a big Bumblebee Transformer that does all kinds of cool tricks.  Later, we head to Sherry's parents' house to spend the night.  This year, we got snow on Christmas night so Evan awoke to a winter wonderland.  Evan's Uncle, Aunt, and cousins arrived to open presents that afternoon so we had another Christmas.  Between playing in the snow and opening presents, Evan was a very tired little boy by night time!
