In 2009, Daddy and Uncle Paul took Evan and his cousin Lanny to the Quail Hollow Golf Tournament (formerly the Wachovia Tournament) that takes place at the Quail Hollow Country Club every year. Needless to say, it is a huge event in Charlotte and brings in all of the greatest golfers for a week long tournament. Uncle Paul and Aunt Jessica had recently moved into a house in the Quail Hollow community so we kind of had a "V.I.P." entrance. The community is closed off to visitors without passes and ticketholders ride shuttle buses to the tournament. We also had access to a "back entrance" to the tournament. During the week, the tournament has a couple of practice days and a ProAm where Amateur golfers are paired with professionals and compete. The actual big money tournament is from Friday to Sunday and cameras are not allowed those days. Mommy and Daddy did get to attend the tournament on Saturday.
Daddy got some great photos during the week. These are Evan's new heroes!
Our little golfer!
This picture is hilarious because I swear I thought this caddy was Paul when I first saw the picture! If any of you know my brother, you will probably see what I mean!
Don't they look like a couple of golfers out on the course?
Doesn't this look like Lanny is patting Evan on the back and giving him some encouragement or tips on his golf game?
Off they go!
Uncle Paul is threatening Lanny if he goes under this rope one more time! Yeah, like that'll work!
Evan says you have to stay hydrated when you're out on the course!
I think this is my favorite picture of cousin Lanny!
Evan inspects this tree...forestry is in his blood!
Guess who?
Tiger and Peyton Manning paired up in the ProAm!
A decent swing for an amateur, Peyton!
Tiger shot!
The ball that Eddie had to save from getting picked up by some little kid. He was thanked profusely!
Tiger's famous pose!
Uncle Paul and cousin Reade get to meet John Fox, the coach of the Carolina Panthers! Go Panthers!
Vijay Singh...one of Daddy's favs!
A great shot of Evan's Papa's hero...Phil Mickelson!
