Soccer Monsters

The title of this post is a reference to one of our favorite Backyardigan cartoons where one of them has turned into a soccer monster, and by the end of the show, they all become soccer monsters so they can play together.  I just thought it was a funnier title than something like "More Soccer Games."  Ha!  Soccer and sports in general can pretty much take over your lives (or at least your weekends) when you have boys.  We love watching Evan play games that he loves though, and he is making some good friends through sports.  The last two games were kind of rough because for one game the weather was rainy, damp, and cool, and for the other game, it was pretty warm out and our coach could not be there so things got a little chaotic.  The team pulled through and worked together as a team though.  Of course, it helps that there is no pressure to win since we don't really keep official score or anything.

It was quite warm out since it was a late game at 11:00, and the boys grew tired quickly.

  1. I love it. What a fun day. It looks like Evan is a good soccer player! Might y'all have a little David Beckham on your hands?

    1. Well, we are just happy with his improvement from last year. He does really enjoy playing now so we'll keep at it until he decides he wants to do something different. I figure we'll give him a chance to play several sports and then let him choose which one he likes best. Sports can take over your life when you have boys!

  3. Rainy and cold sounds nice actually. Maybe not for game day, but just in general. It's going to be 90 degrees and up all week. Yuck.

    1. Awww, you know I'd send you some cooler and wetter weather if I could. But hey, at least you'll be able to use that new swimming pool more in the future!
