In February 2008, Eddie was supposed to do a special event at Discovery Place and bring Smokey the Bear! We decided to take Evan and used this trip as a great photo opportunity. Eddie had to drive his work truck so Mommy and Evan drove separate! When we arrived and met Eddie, he immediately got a "fire call" and had to leave. Since we had already went through the trouble of parking in Uptown and walking to the museum (and since we got in free), Mommy and Evan decided to stay a while! The Norman Rockwell exhibit was actually on display so Mommy had fun snapping pictures of Evan in all the exhibits! He got to sit in a Model T Ford, sit on a '50s diner lunch counter, and meet all kinds of "strangers" from the Saturday Evening Post!
Here are some of these great pictures:
Evan stopped to play in the little discovery zone. Yes, that little girl was drinking the water from the water table! Thank goodness that wasn't Evan! Mommy would have freaked out just like her Mommy did! Since Evan was a thumbsucker, Mommy had the hand wash out as soon as he was done playing here.
Apparently it is always fun to play with someone else's toys!
Bleed green...John Deere all the way!
What a realistic dinosaur!
Remember this? One of the memorable covers of the Saturday Evening Post come to life!
Remember Red Head and Hattie? Now that was love! Evan wanted to pet their puppy!
Evan driving the Model T (or A...I don't know which but we know it's a Ford)!
Doctor checking out the baby doll! I am so glad I had Evan's silhouette done like the one in the background! I will treasure it forever!
Evan's 1st day of school! Doesn't everyone want to live in Norman Rockwell's world?
Evan was so good in class...not like the trouble maker sitting behind him! ;-)
Evan's teacher was so nice!
Evan stops to pet this strange man's dog in the park, and no, he didn't ask first! ;-) Does anyone remember the man at the zoo from Lady & the Tramp? Doesn't this look like the same guy?
Yummy, chocolate cake and coca-cola at the Soda Shoppe!
He proposed! She said: "I have to think about it."
Evan is "in the army now"!
