Brody is 6!

This was his Kindergarten Spring picture.  I did actually purchase some of these because I think they were pretty good.  He looks so big with his hands in his pockets.
He sure has grown a lot in 6 years.

20.  What do you hope you'll get to do before your next birthday?

"I want to make my cake."   What do you want to do or see before your birthday?  "Um, I want to see some presents."  Sigh.  If you ever mention the word birthday, it is all about cake and presents.   He definitely loves celebrating birthdays.

Because birthdays are so special to Brody, it always seems so important to have everything just right for his.  He really doesn't care about a big party with lots of guests, but he does think that some things are a necessity.  Decorations, cake, and presents are a must for him.  The presents don't have to be big or expensive, but they do have to be wrapped in pretty paper.  He really isn't a difficult child to make happy.  His love language is easy, and he is very easy to love most of the time.  Yes, he does have his moments (and yes, they are BIG moments because he has a BIG personality), but when this kid smiles, the whole world smiles with him.  Recently, we were at his new school walking down the crowded hall during the end of school parties, and I overheard some teachers (not his) in the hall commenting about what a sweet smile he has for everyone.  To me, that just describes Brody perfectly.  He has a smile for everyone!

For his birthday, we just want to give back to Brody and make him smile extra big.  This year, we discussed what he wanted to do, and he decided he wanted to play putt-putt.  He and Evan both have this enjoyment in common.  There aren't many putt-putt places in our area, but there are a couple of decent ones about an hour away in Hilton Head so we decided to make a beach day of it.  I also had to make Brody a special cake and wrap some presents for him.  I think he approved of all of our preparations.

Little brothers and Mommy enjoyed eating lunch with Brody for his birthday.

Brody enjoyed his hot dog and then got a special birthday ice cream treat.

For Brody, balloons, decorations and cake are very important and very appreciated.  He loved the Minecraft creeper cake I made him.

We enjoyed a nice birthday dinner at home with our little man.

Blowing out his candle and making a wish.  I love his smiles.  How can he be six years old?
On Saturday, we headed out to Hilton Head to play a game of putt putt.  Brody started his game off strong with a hole in one!

He has been playing putt putt since he learned to walk and is becoming a little pro.

Now, it is Mattox's turn to learn to play.

He was so cute chasing his ball all over the course and then putting it down right by the hole to hit it in.

I just love these boys and how much fun they have together.

Evan is an old pro at putt putt.

The course offered a lot of shade to help keep us cool, but all of the boys were still sweating.

Daddy and Mattox chasing their balls.

My mini golfers.

Evan is learning that he has an additional obstacle in the game...putting around little brother.

But he is so darn cute!

This course was pretty nice with water features and lots of pretty trees and vegetation.

Despite a hot and tiring game of putt putt, Mattox still wanted to spend some time watching the fish before he went inside to cool off.

The boys played some arcade games to cool off.  Evan and Brody wanted to play Jurassic Park.

This cutie liked this little roller coaster ride simulator...or the seats anyway.

Evan showed little brother how to play skee ball.
Then, we hit the beach for some more cooling off.  It was a perfect day. The water was calm enough for Grayson to enjoy sitting in the surf.

I love that little bucket hat that all of our boys have worn.  I could do a comparison collage with all of them wearing it at the beach.

Brody enjoyed swimming while big brother Evan entertained his little brothers.

Mattox loves playing with his little brother while Evan and Brody play together in the water.

Mommy and Daddy relaxed under the umbrella while the boys played a little beach soccer.

These boys love the beach.

I love this little guy!

Just running in the waves.

Enjoying a special day with my boys.  I just love my new beach hat for shading my face from the sun...and the camera.  Ha!

Walking with and playing with my boys.

These boys enjoyed these rocking chairs outside Duck Donuts.  We loved getting some of these yummy donuts like the ones we missed from NC.
On Sunday, Brody got to open some presents and cards.
He enjoyed reading all of his cards while wearing his school birthday hat.

He was so excited about his very own Minecraft Lego set.

And a Minecraft shirt too.  Mommy found a little theme for him this year since he does love playing Minecraft.  Unfortunately, the Minecraft Wii game has been broken AGAIN so I am not sure when it will be replaced.

Brody also got to pick out a new big boy bike as he had outgrown his old one and Evan's old one too.  He loves this shiny blue one.
