Avocados are yummy!

We decided to go ahead and let Brody try his first meal this weekend when we could all be with him.  We will be doing the week by week experiment with each first food to make sure he does not have any bad reactions to anything he eats.  The first food was, of course, avocado.  It was an easy to make food since no cooking was required, and it was easy to get a smooth creamy texture with just avocado and water.  Evan had a good time helping use the Baby Bullet too.

Avocado...the perfect BABY food!

Mommy prepares the baby food.  It was so easy!

Even Big Brother enjoyed helping!

I think it's ready.  One avocado made about six jars.  The jars have little dates on them so you can put the date it was made.  They will keep about 3 days in the refrigerator and about a month in the freezer so you can make ahead for the whole week.  We went ahead and made bananas for next week too!

Brody is ready!  We are using his little bumbo seat and feeding tray for now because he isn't quite sitting up without support.  He does have great control of his upper body, head and neck!

The first bite goes in.

What's the verdict?  The passive face was a little hard to read, but he didn't fuss and went for more so we think he approved.

Gotta love that little avocado face!

Second bite!

"Mmmmm...fingerlicking good!"

So cute going for more.

A happy face...SUCCESS!

Could he be begging for more?

Sweet smiles!

What a face!  Time for cleanup!

Stay tuned next week for BANANAS!  Happy Feeding!
